About

Sabrina was raised in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya by a mountaineer-musician, a Social Sciences teacher, and a swarm of kingfishers, fruit bats, and fireflies.

Surrounded by abundant stories from her multi-species community, she naturally took to writing and performing. In grade school, she often snuck out of class to hold unauthorized interactive storytelling sessions with the kindergarten pupils of the neighboring building.

She went on to graduate from Ateneo de Manila University with a BFA in Creative Writing, a Minor in Theatre Arts, and a Loyola Schools Award (Excellence Award) for Performing Arts.

She has worked as an actress for the Philippine Educational Theater Association, Tanghalang Ateneo, Ateneo Blue Repertory, University of the Philippines Dulaang Lab, Areté, Virgin Labfest, and various student film productions. She has also dabbled in voice acting for documentaries and animated shorts.

Her works as dramatist have been staged and read in various schools such as the Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo Senior High School, De La Salle University Integrated School, and MINT College. Her work has also been performed in prestigious theatre festivals like the Virgin Labfest Fellowship Program, the 2020 International Women Playwright’s Readathon, and Romania's 2021 Hektomeron Project.

Her undergraduate thesis, "Lysistrata ng Bakwit"(Lysistrata of the Evacuation Center) was the recipient of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts' 2018 Salikha Creative Grant.

In 2019, Sabrina's first professional play, "Antigone versus the People of the Philippines," earned her citation as a breakout writer in Philippine Daily Inquirer's "Best of Theatre 2019" list.

Now, Sabrina writes and devises performances for art collectives like Tanghalang Ateneo, Teatro Baguntao, and Jungle Gym Play Laboratory, which she co-founded in 2020.

She is on a mission to restore care and community-led practices by being a student and collaborator of nature and eco-feminist cultures everywhere she encounters them.
